Jacksons Food Stores sponsored Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho in the most successful Bowl for Kids’ Sake in the organization’s history. On February 25, 2014, the event brought in more than $80,000.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support 200 existing matches and 20 new matches during 2014. Bowl for Kids’ Sake has been conducted annually since 2002, but never raised more than $60,000. As the title sponsor for the event, Jacksons Food Stores, helped push the fundraiser to a new level.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho is executing an ambitious plan to grow significantly in the coming years to provide mentors to more kids in areas like Nampa and Caldwell. BBBS will use some of the funds raised during Bowl for Kids’ Sake to support 20 new matches in Canyon County.

Other sponsors for the event included the Ada County Sheriff’s Office Youth Foundation and the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office Youth Foundation, among others. “Jacksons is pleased with the success of Bowl for Kids’ Sake,” said Cory Jackson, President of Jacksons Food Stores. “Partnering as a community to help organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters, just makes sense.”
